Is Tanning Safe?
Yet again in 2009 this industry hasn't gone many months without criticism and scare-mongering from the media, and it looks like we are going to come under attack again in 2010, with the launch of a campaign spearheaded by Nicola Roberts (Girls Aloud). We wait with baited breath to hear what insight she is going to impart upon us with her wealth of experience on the subject! No doubt she would like us all to look like she does.... Red Headed with Pale complexions.... envy on her part I think!
The simple answer is YES it is safe, and we challenge the Government and even Cancer Research to provide one single shred of evidence to prove otherwise.
So far (anywhere in the world) these so called experts have failed to prove, or to provide any evidence that skin melanoma is connected to sun bed use!
Yes of course its in our interests to say this, but why should we automatically believe what we are being told when science can't even substantiate any of the claims being made!
We are of course against the use of sunbeds in unsupervised coin operated salons, from the hygiene aspect alone, and would always advise clients to locate a salon where trained staff are available to supervise and assist.
